Materia Medica Classes

Materia Medica means “medical material” referring to the collective wisdom and knowledge of substances used for health purposes.  These classes are  experiential – participants use their senses to understand the herbal actions of plants by drinking tea made from a plant that has a history of medicinal use. They look at the color, note the smell and taste, and note any changes in their bodies as a result of drinking the tea. The tea’s identity is a secret until after the participants have created a list of herbal actions and potential uses. Then the plant’s name is shared along with historical and personal experiences from herbalist Leah Wolfe.

The classes will be held monthly starting in March 2017. The cost is $10 and includes a 90 minute workshop and a sample of the plant medicine to take home. Space is limited,  reserve a seat in advance by contacting us.
