Next month, the Trillium Center will resume the Alternative Building Technologies program that started last year. Throughout the summer there
are opportunities to participate in experimental and alternative building technologies. Charles Schiavone, life long builder and bindlestiff, will be
working on various projects at BLD farm. Projects include the strawbale Seed House with the rammed-earth tire foundation and attached greenhouse, a thermal mass rocket stove bench heater, the DIY solar food dehydrator, and conversion of an old corn crib into an insulated 4-season habitable living space, an outdoor summer kitchen, composting toilets, and a timber frame addition to the livestock barn.
