Autumn Olives and a Newsletter

Autumn or Russian Olives
Autumn or Russian Olives

Autumn is here! Purple asters, goldenrod, Autumn olives, and scarlet maple leaves are transforming the landscape. Autumn olives are delicious, sour, astringent, and sweet. They are contain vitamins, bioflavonoids, and essential fatty acids. I would expect them to be cleansing and a nice addition to a homemade cough syrup or cold/flu remedy. The shrubby tree is considered invasive, so yet another reason to eat the lovely berries.

The news from the Trillium Center is here. We are making great progress establishing our educational center. We had several people attend the summer herbal intensive, the straw bale walls for the Seed House are going up, and we had our first work/exchange participants.
